DTM 2027 test calendar: from Spielberg to the Sachsenring
The 2027 DTM has four official ADAC test days at Spielberg, Oschersleben, Lausitzring and Sachsenring, two of them held just before a race weekend.
Key point
Four official ADAC tests in 2027 (Spielberg, Oschersleben, Lausitzring, Sachsenring); Oschersleben replaces Hockenheim and pre-race tests return.
The DTM has revealed its 2027 test calendar: the ADAC is organising four official test days at four circuits. Two of them take place only days before a race weekend, a format that is returning to the championship.
The four DTM 2027 test dates
- Wednesday 7 April 2027: Spielberg (Austria). The test comes a little over two weeks before the season opener at the same track, from 23 to 25 April.
- Thursday 6 May 2027: Oschersleben. It directly precedes the race weekend of 7 to 9 May.
- Wednesday 2 June 2027: Lausitzring. Teams then have about two weeks before the race in Lusatia, scheduled for 18 to 20 June.
- Wednesday 22 September 2027: Sachsenring. The race weekend starts two days later, on 24 September.
The announced test lengths are about 7 h 20 at the Sachsenring, 6 h 20 at Oschersleben and 7 h at the Lausitzring. No length is given for Spielberg. A fifth "joker" day, which teams could choose freely, has been mentioned, but it is not confirmed: the test regulations have not yet been published.
What changes compared with 2026
- Oschersleben replaces Hockenheim in the test programme.
- Spielberg comes a week earlier: in 2026 the test was held there on 14 April, in temperatures of 8 to 18 °C. The circuit sits at about 700 m altitude, which makes early-season weather unpredictable.
- The return of Thursday tests: Oschersleben and the Sachsenring sit right before a race weekend. This format already existed in 2023.
Another change: there is no winter test regulation for 2027, unlike the year before. After the Hockenheim finale, teams handed their entire tyre allocation back to Pirelli. Free testing remains possible with Pirelli's DHG tyre.
The race calendar at a glance
The 2027 championship has eight race weekends and 16 races. After the opener at the Red Bull Ring (23-25 April), it visits Oschersleben (7-9 May), the Lausitzring (18-20 June), the Norisring (2-4 July), Zandvoort (6-8 August), the Nürburgring (20-22 August) and the Sachsenring (24-26 September). The finale is at the Hockenheimring from 8 to 10 October, where the 2027 DTM champion will be crowned.
The test calendar therefore complements an already fixed programme: three of the four tests come between a few days and a few weeks before the race at the same circuit.
