WorldWCR: CFMOTO replaces Yamaha from 2027. The 675SR-R will be the women's world championship's only bike until 2029, with more power than the R7.

CFMOTO becomes the bike supplier for WorldWCR, the women-only circuit racing world championship, from 2027. The 675SR-R replaces the Yamaha R7, used since the series began in 2024. The announcement came on 9 October 2026, a day after the end of the partnership with Yamaha was made public.

Yamaha leaves after three seasons

On 8 October 2026, WorldSBK announced that WorldWCR and Yamaha Motor Europe would end their partnership after the 2026 season. Yamaha helped launch the championship in 2024: its R7s were the basis of the first three seasons, which opened at Misano in June 2024. According to Road Racing World, the series has brought together 55 riders from 25 nationalities. Ana Carrasco was champion in 2024 and Maria Herrera in 2025. The release does not say why the partnership is ending.

What the 675SR-R changes

According to Crash.net, the deal covers the 2027 to 2029 seasons and the 675SR-R will be the championship's only model until 2029. Power figures vary by source:

  • Yamaha R7: a near-stock twin, about 70 bhp according to Crash.net;
  • CFMOTO 675SR-R: about 90 bhp according to Crash.net, 95 hp in stock form according to Motoplanete;
  • engine: a 675 cc three-cylinder developed in-house by CFMOTO, with a competition kit fitted on top of the road version;
  • track record: the bike raced for two seasons in British Superbike and, per Motoplanete, took a podium in its first, with help from Spain's Aspar team.

From 2027, CFMOTO will supply prepared bikes, spare-parts logistics and an engineering team at every round, again according to Motoplanete.

A more powerful fourth season

Gregorio Lavilla, WorldSBK executive director, presents the 675SR-R as a more powerful bike for riders to master, with equal technical conditions for everyone. Samantha Liu of CFMOTO calls it an important new chapter for the brand. In 2027, WorldSBK also travels to China for the first time, with Shanghai as the final round of the calendar.
