WEC 2027: Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA signs António Félix da Costa and Ricky Taylor, while Alex Lynn joins McLaren ahead of the marque's Hypercar debut.
Key point
Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA replaces Alex Lynn and Sébastien Bourdais with António Félix da Costa and Ricky Taylor for 2027; Lynn becomes McLaren's third announced driver.
The 2027 World Endurance Championship (WEC) is taking shape. On 15 October, Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA announced two arrivals, António Félix da Costa and Ricky Taylor, while McLaren, which makes its Hypercar debut next year, presented Alex Lynn.
The changes at Cadillac JOTA
The newcomers replace Sébastien Bourdais (47) and Alex Lynn, who leave after the season finale at Monza next month. Bourdais has not yet reached a new deal with Cadillac and his future is uncertain. Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, Norman Nato and Will Stevens stay on in the Cadillac V-Series.R. How the drivers will be split between the two cars is not yet known.
- Ricky Taylor moves to a full WEC programme. He has 32 IMSA wins and 76 IMSA podiums, and already raced for JOTA this year at the Circuit of the Americas while Lynn recovered from surgery.
- António Félix da Costa returns to JOTA, with whom he won the LMP2 title in 2022. He drove the Alpine in Hypercar this season, before the end of the marque's Hypercar programme announced by Renault.
Alex Lynn at McLaren
Lynn, a 33-year-old Briton, joins McLaren's MCL-HY programme alongside Mikkel Jensen and Laurens Vanthoor. He is the third driver the team has announced. He will first finish the 2026 season with JOTA. He returns to competition at the 6 Hours of Barcelona after a long injury absence.
His Cadillac record: five years, two of them with JOTA, four Hypercar poles including the pole at the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours, and a part in the marque's first WEC win at São Paulo. He has also won the 12 Hours of Sebring twice.
What to remember
The 2027 grid looks set for a refresh, with a new manufacturer in McLaren and reshuffled crews at Cadillac. The teams have yet to reveal the final line-up of each car.
