Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki confirmed its five-rider roster for the 2027 SuperMotocross season between 19 and 20 October 2026. The newcomer is Nate Thrasher, who leaves Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha to join reigning SMX world champion Levi Kitchen.
Nate Thrasher: a first manufacturer change
A native of Tennessee, Nate Thrasher rode seven seasons, from 2020 to 2026, with Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha. He now moves to another manufacturer, Kawasaki, for the first time. He has won at least one race every season since turning professional, and his seventh 250 Supercross win came at round 14 in Cleveland in 2026.
He is aiming for a championship and a career total of 10 race wins. He will train in Florida with teammates Levi Kitchen and Nick Romano. Team owner Mitch Payton welcomed him and said the bike will be the KX250F.
The four riders who stay
- Levi Kitchen: 2026 250 SMX world champion, his first title and the team's 32nd championship.
- Seth Hammaker: starts his seventh season with the team. He won his first 250 SX race at Daytona and finished second in the East championship, but a shoulder injury at High Point cut his motocross season short.
- Drew Adams: with the team since 2025, he set the fastest qualifying time at the Daytona Supercross and at the Spring Creek round.
- Nick Romano: he joined during the 2026 season and becomes a full-time rider in 2027. He took his first overall podium, third at Thunder Valley, and injured his back at Southwick.
Key takeaway
The team therefore keeps four of its riders and adds a 250 Supercross race winner. Mitch Payton leads the team's programme. For Nate Thrasher, the move ends seven seasons with Yamaha, with the stated aim of winning a title in 2027. The sources consulted give neither race numbers nor contract terms.
