SnowCross 2027: the SNX calendar drops to three rounds
2027 FIM SNX Snowcross World Championship: the 30-31 January round is cancelled. Rize, Rovaniemi and Trondheim remain. Dates and championships involved.
Key point
The 30-31 January 2027 round, whose venue was never announced, is dropped: the FIM SNX world championship will be run over three rounds, from Rize to Trondheim.
The 2027 calendar of the FIM Snowcross (SNX) World Championship loses a round. Infront Moto Racing announced on 4 November, from Monaco, that the round of 30 and 31 January, whose venue was never revealed, has been dropped. The season will therefore be run over three rounds, across Türkiye, Finland and Norway.
The revised calendar
- Rize (Türkiye), 16-17 January: season opener.
- Rovaniemi (Finland), 20-21 February.
- Trondheim (Norway), 9-10 April: finale.
The provisional calendar published by the FIM and Infront Moto Racing on 5 June had four rounds, the second simply listed as "venue to be announced". That slot is now gone.
Which championships at which rounds?
- FIM Snowcross World Championship: all three rounds.
- FIM Women's Snowcross World Championship: all three rounds.
- FIM European Snowcross Championship: Finland and Norway only.
What we know about the venues
At Rize, on the Handüzü plateau about 1,800 m up on the Black Sea coast, Türkiye hosts the championship for the fourth consecutive year. The Rovaniemi round marks Finland's return after its absence from the 2026 calendar; it coincides with the 60th anniversary of BRP, maker of Lynx and Ski-Doo, and reigning world champion Aki Pihlaja is among the riders expected, according to the FIM. The Trondheim finale will crown the world champions; the 2026 finale there drew 7,000 spectators.
Worth noting
The organisers gave no reason in the statement relayed by the championship website. Detailed schedules, entry lists and ticketing will be published later, according to the FIM.
