Pedro Acosta signs Monster Energy as personal sponsor ahead of his move to Ducati for the 2027 MotoGP season, ending six years with Red Bull. Full details.

Key point

Ahead of joining Ducati in 2027, Pedro Acosta has signed Monster Energy as his personal sponsor, ending a six-year association with Red Bull in world championship racing.

Pedro Acosta has chosen Monster Energy as his personal sponsor ahead of joining Ducati for the 2027 MotoGP season. The announcement came through a social media post with footage of the sea and a new logo that pairs a shark profile with the name 'Acosta', the day before the Qatar Grand Prix weekend.

Six years with Red Bull

The signing ends a six-year association with Red Bull in world championship racing, the last three seasons of it in MotoGP. Red Bull was never his personal sponsor, though: bound by his KTM contract, Acosta had to promote the Austrian manufacturer's sponsors. Red Bull was therefore not paying him to show its logo on his cap, helmet or suit.

A career built with Red Bull

Acosta came up through the Red Bull system:

  • 2019: second in the Red Bull Rookies Cup.
  • 2020: Rookies Cup winner.
  • 2021: Moto3 world champion in his first season, with Ajo KTM Red Bull.
  • 2022: Moto2 world champion with the same team, with seven wins and 14 podiums.
  • 2024: MotoGP debut with Tech3 KTM Red Bull.
  • 2025: promotion to the KTM factory team.

Monster already at Ducati

The deal fits neatly, as Monster already sponsors the Ducati team under a contract running to the end of 2027. At that point, the team and Acosta will have to decide how to continue their partnership. At Ducati he will be team-mate to Marc Márquez, who also had to give up his personal Red Bull sponsorship when he left Honda HRC for the Italian marque.

A rumour to treat with caution

According to reports in the press, Red Bull could join the Bologna-based Ducati team in about two years. Nothing is confirmed, and we draw no conclusion from it.

Key takeaways

Acosta's sponsor change is a strong signal ahead of his arrival at Ducati: he turns the page on Red Bull after six years and already carries the colours of a partner of his future team. It remains to be seen how the partnership evolves after 2027.
