The WRC returns to the United States from 26 to 29 August 2027, for the first time since 1988 and the Olympus Rally in Washington state. The organisers of Rally USA revealed the first details of the event on 27 October 2026, after it was confirmed on the calendar in early October.
A spectacular start in Nashville
The ceremonial start will take place on Lower Broadway in Nashville, one of the most famous streets in America's music capital. The cars will be shown to fans among the music clubs and bars before the competitive part begins.
Knoxville as the heart of the rally
The heart of the event will be Knoxville, in eastern Tennessee. A WRC Arena will be built at World's Fair Park and the Knoxville Convention Center. It will house the team and service areas, as well as driver presentations, live concerts and other fan activities.
Gravel stages in Tennessee and Kentucky
The stages will be spread over more than 15 districts in Tennessee and Kentucky, on the fast gravel roads of the Appalachians and the Cumberland Plateau. The region offers a mix of twisty forest sections, significant elevation changes and fast, open stretches. The organisers have not yet published the final route or the list of stages.
The sporting context
Rally USA is round 11 of the 15-round 2027 WRC calendar, approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council and announced on 8 October 2026. It sits between Rally Finland, which ends on 1 August, and Rally Scotland, which starts on 30 September. The FIA ran a candidate event from 11 to 17 June 2026 in Kentucky and Tennessee, with ACCUS and promoter Podium Event Partners.
Championship officials describe the United States as a long-standing priority, and the organisers want the event to become a multi-day festival, with concerts and activities in the towns along the route.
