The World Rally Championship (WRC) will run 15 rounds in 2027, according to the calendar announced by the FIA on 8 October 2026 after approval by the World Motor Sport Council. Autosport and Motorsport.com note that it is the biggest number of rounds since 2008. The 2027 WRC calendar sees the United States and the United Kingdom return, and Rome arrive.

The three newcomers on the 2027 WRC calendar

  • United States: a gravel event around Knoxville, with stages in Tennessee and Kentucky, from 26 to 29 August. The WRC has not visited since 1988.
  • Scotland: Rally Scotland, based in Aberdeen, runs from 30 September to 3 October under a three-year deal. The UK returns to the calendar for the first time since 2019.
  • Rome: Rally d'Italia leaves Sardinia and its October slot for a tarmac event in Rome and the Lazio region, from 8 to 11 July. The event is promoted from the European Rally Championship (ERC).

What changes for the season

Portugal drops off the calendar, although a return in 2028 remains possible. Kenya keeps its March slot thanks to an agreement whose financial terms the FIA did not disclose. Estonia and Finland run one week apart, and the season ends in Saudi Arabia. The WRC27 technical regulations also come into force in 2027, according to Autosport.
