Herrera crowned in Race 1

Herrera did not need to win: fifth place was enough to lock up the crown. Road Racing World reports she now has 237 points, 35 more than Beatriz Neila (Ampito Crescent Yamaha), second in the standings on 202 points. The WorldSBK press release speaks of a title "defended": it is the Yamaha rider's second consecutive championship.

Ramos wins despite two long laps

On track, the 11-lap race was tight. Paola Ramos (Klint Racing Team Yamaha R7, Pirelli tyres) won despite a double long lap penalty for a jump start. According to Racesport.nl, she made an impressive comeback to beat Neila by just 0.167s. Ramos also set the fastest lap, 1'50.998, a new lap record.

The podium was completed by Roberta Ponziani (Klint Racing Team), third more than eight seconds behind her team-mate. Herrera finished fifth, behind her Terra & Vita GRT team-mate Natalia Rivera, who was fourth.
