Rize, Rovaniemi, Trondheim: what changes
The season opens for the fourth consecutive year in Rize, on the Handüzü Plateau, a high-altitude track in Türkiye. The return of Finland is the other highlight: Rovaniemi will host celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the BRP factory, which builds Lynx and Ski-Doo snowmobiles.
The season ends in Norway, in Trondheim, where the 2026 finale drew 7,000 spectators. It was also in Trondheim, last April, that Wilma Jonsson won her first world title.
An organisers' meeting in Uddevalla
On 17 August 2026, organisers met in Uddevalla, Sweden, during the MXGP Grand Prix of Sweden at Glimminge. Around the table were event organisers, national federations and riders, including Wilma Jonsson, Emil and Filip Harr, Hilda Öhman and Kelly Collier, along with representatives of Infront Moto Racing, the FIM and Scandinavian federations.
The agenda covered the building of the 2027 calendar, event standards and the expansion of the women's class. The official report names three confirmed venues for 2027: Rize, Rovaniemi and Trondheim, with the season starting in January.
Three championships on one programme
The calendar brings together three titles: the FIM SNX World Championship, the Women's Snowcross World Championship and the FIM European Snowcross Championship. For fans of winter motorsport, now is the time to mark the dates for next winter.
We will update this article once the venue of the second round and the final calendar are published.
