Max Verstappen (Red Bull) will start from pole position in the Singapore Grand Prix, round 17 of the F1 season. The Dutchman set 1:31.373 in Q3 at the Marina Bay circuit: it is the 50th pole position of his career and his first in Singapore.

Ferraris beaten by 0.054 s

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) takes second place, just 0.054 s behind, in 1:31.427. His team-mate Lewis Hamilton is third in 1:31.496. According to Motorsport.com, Hamilton had led Q1 and Q2 before being beaten by Verstappen in Q3. Verstappen and Leclerc share the front row, with Hamilton leading off the second.

At Red Bull, Isack Hadjar had problems from Q1: he stopped on track and did not go out again, so he will also start from the back.

A delayed session

Qualifying began 30 minutes late because the sprint finished late. Lando Norris, fifth, and Oscar Piastri, seventh, had collided in the sprint. The Grand Prix start is on Sunday evening, local time.
