Red Bull Hardline makes its Canada debut at Cypress Mountain
Red Bull Hardline arrives in Canada on 16-17 October 2026 at Cypress Mountain: freeride MTB with huge jumps, drops over 10 m and live Red Bull TV coverage.
Key point
Red Bull Hardline makes its Canadian debut at Cypress Mountain on 16 and 17 October 2026, with Saturday's main race live on Red Bull TV.
Red Bull Hardline, one of the most spectacular downhill mountain bike events in the world, is coming to Canada for the first time. It takes place on 16 and 17 October 2026 at Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver, British Columbia, with practice and qualifying on Friday and the main race on Saturday 17 October, live on Red Bull TV.
A series born in Wales
Hardline was launched in Wales in 2014 by brothers Dan and Gee Atherton. The Canadian edition marks the series' 12th year and its third location after Wales and Tasmania, where the event expanded in 2025. It is also its first stop in North America.
Red Bull presents the event as an invitation-only competition featuring the world's most progressive male and female mountain bike riders. The entry list sits on a separate page of the official site.
What the course promises
The Cypress Mountain track is described as having:
- massive jumps and gap sections
- drops of more than 10 m
- rock gardens and very steep descents
- features borrowed from dirt jumping and BMX, which are not allowed in the World Cup or other UCI races
According to Singletracks, Canadians Jackson Goldstone and Gracey Hemstreet, two of the most decorated riders in Hardline history, have worked with the Athertons on the track design. Cypress Mountain no longer has a downhill bike park: the one that operated from 2005 closed before the 2010 Winter Olympics. Whistler is about an hour and a half away. Grouse Mountain, also on the North Shore, did open a bike park in 2025.
