Key point

Jackson Goldstone set the fastest seeding time at Red Bull Hardline in Cypress (3:46.405), 5.847 s ahead of Bernard Kerr, before a final moved up to Friday 16 October.

Seeding for Red Bull Hardline at Cypress Mountain, near Vancouver, has delivered its verdict: Canada's Jackson Goldstone set the fastest time, 3:46.405, 5.847 s ahead of Britain's Bernard Kerr. The final has been moved up to Friday 16 October 2026 because of the weather forecast.

The seeding order

The seeding runs were held on Thursday 15 October. The principle: to qualify for the final, a rider must have completed a full run with every feature before the race. The last chance is the morning practice. The top 5:

  • 1. Jackson Goldstone: 3:46.405
  • 2. Bernard Kerr: 3:52.252
  • 3. Tegan Cruz: 3:53.629
  • 4. Michael Delesalle: 3:54.506
  • 5. Dane Jewett: 3:55.047

Sixteen riders are classified, the last, Harry Molloy, 1:16.035 behind Goldstone. Charlie Hatton, Tuhoto-Ariki Pene and Oli Clark complete the top 8 behind Dane Jewett.

DNFs, a disqualification and bad luck for Vermette

The table also lists many riders with no final time. Six DNFs are recorded: Asa Vermette, Ronan Dunne, Lachlan Stevens-McNab, Roger Vieira, Hugo Frixtalon and Kaos Seagrave. According to MTB-News, technical failures are the probable cause of most of them.

The most notable case is Asa Vermette: he was almost 3 s ahead until his mechanical problem. Finn Iles is disqualified, no reason given, and Johnathan Helly did not start.

Final moved up, and where to watch

According to both Singletrack and MTB-News, the final was moved up a day because of bad weather: it takes place on Friday 16 October. It is shown live on Red Bull TV and on YouTube.

The Cypress Mountain track, the series' third venue after Wales and Tasmania, was designed by Canadians Jackson Goldstone and Gracey Hemstreet with the Athertons. It features big jumps, gaps, drops of more than 10 m, rock gardens and very steep sections, with elements borrowed from dirt jumping and BMX.
