Rallye du Maroc 2026: Canet (KTM) and Quintero (Toyota) win

Edgar Canet (KTM) won the 2026 Rallye du Maroc in the bike category, Seth Quintero (Toyota) took the cars and Mitchel van den Brink the trucks, after the final stage on Saturday 3 October 2026 around the Chegaga dunes, finishing at the Zagora bivouac. This round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) produced three winners who are each the youngest in the event's history in their category.
Bikes: Canet turns the tables on Sanders
Canet, 21, started the 259-kilometre final special 1 min 26 s behind teammate Daniel Sanders. As the previous day's winner, Sanders had to open the road and lost time navigating around kilometre 55; Canet caught him and led alone from kilometre 91. He won the rally by 1 min 02 s.
Ricky Brabec (Honda) won the final stage ahead of Luciano Benavides (+2 min 36 s) and keeps third place overall. Canet becomes the youngest winner of the rally and gives KTM its eighteenth Morocco victory. In the world championship, Sanders keeps the lead.
Cars: an all-Toyota podium
Quintero never finished higher than third on a stage, but his consistency earned him overall victory, ahead of João Ferreira (+4 min 23 s) and Henk Lategan (+4 min 42 s). It is the first all-Toyota podium in three years and the first win by an American in this event. The stage went to Eryk Goczał (Ford).
Sébastien Loeb (Dacia) was fighting for the stage win before he stopped 700 metres from the finish and was towed in by Martin Macík's truck. Quintero takes the world championship lead, 13 points ahead of Loeb and 19 ahead of Nasser Al-Attiyah.
Trucks and other classes
Mitchel van den Brink (Team de Rooy) won on his first appearance, ahead of two-time defending champion Macík. It is the team's first Morocco victory since Michiel Becx in 2023.
- Stock: Stéphane Peterhansel (Defender) won the rally, but Yasir Seaidan took Toyota Auto Body's first stage win in the category.
- SSV: Matthias Walkner (Can-Am) won the final stage and the rally.
- Rally3: Albert Martín (Triumph) won the event, while Murun Purevdorj became the W2RC's first Mongolian world champion.
- Quads: Antanas Kanopkinas (CFMoto) won all six special stages.
What comes next
The W2RC ends with the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, from 22 to 27 November. The next Rallye du Maroc is scheduled for 24 to 29 October 2027.
