Olympic cross-country MTB champion Jolanda Neff leaves Cannondale for Fenix-Premier Tech in 2027 and 2028 and joins Puck Pieterse. What we know so far.

Key point

Olympic XCO champion Jolanda Neff signs with Fenix-Premier Tech for 2027 and 2028; her split between MTB, cyclocross and road is not yet known.

Jolanda Neff is changing teams. According to MTB-News, the Swiss rider, Tokyo Olympic champion in cross-country mountain biking (XCO), is joining the Belgian squad Fenix-Premier Tech for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. She will team up with Dutch rider Puck Pieterse, the 2024 XCO world champion.

A two-season deal

Fenix-Premier Tech is a WorldTour road team with its own mountain bike and cyclocross structures. The announcement came through the team's Instagram account, MTB-News reports. A few days earlier, Brujula Bike had relayed reports from Dutch outlet WielerFlits about the move, without official confirmation.

Neff, 33, says she wants to keep developing as an athlete and pass her experience on to younger riders. She points to the team's women's cycling structures and its long-term youth development work.

Why she is changing teams

Neff spent six years at Trek before joining Cannondale Factory Racing in early 2025, which makes two seasons with the team. Cannondale announced in June that 2026 would be the last season of its factory cross-country team, after more than 30 years. Her former teammates Luca Martin and Cole Punchard have signed with Decathlon Ford.

A record across three disciplines

  • MTB: XCO world champion in 2017, Olympic title in Tokyo in 2021, three overall World Cup titles
  • Cyclocross: sixth at the 2026 World Championships in Hulst
  • Road: Swiss champion in 2018, with Trek-Segafredo in 2019 combining road and MTB

Puck Pieterse herself finished third at the 2026 cyclocross World Championships in Hulst.

What is still unknown

Neither the team nor the sources consulted say how Neff will split her 2027 season. It is not known whether she will contest a full XCO World Cup, a few rounds, or give more room to cyclocross and road. No departure from mountain biking has been announced: according to Brujula Bike, riding road races regularly would not force her to give up MTB.

The move adds to the reshuffle of the XCO field for 2027 after the end of the Cannondale team. The start of the XCO World Cup season will soon show what place MTB keeps in her calendar.
