Key point

Marco Bezzecchi wins the 2026 Indonesian GP by 4.260 seconds from Raúl Fernández: Aprilia takes the top four places and Jorge Martin retakes the championship lead by two points over Marc Márquez.

Marco Bezzecchi won the MotoGP Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika on Sunday 11 October 2026, and Aprilia took the first four places. Third-placed Jorge Martin retakes the championship lead, two points ahead of Marc Márquez.

Bezzecchi's first win since May

Over 27 laps, Bezzecchi beat Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse Aprilia), who started from pole position and raced on despite broken fingers. He won in 40'46.582, 4.260 seconds clear. It is his first MotoGP victory since the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello in May, and Aprilia's first since the British Grand Prix in early August.

The gaps at the flag:

  • 1. Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing): 40'46.582
  • 2. Raúl Fernández (Trackhouse Aprilia): +4.260
  • 3. Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing): +6.890
  • 4. Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Aprilia): +9.378
  • 5. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM): +9.492
  • 6. Marc Márquez (Ducati): +10.778

Alex Márquez (Gresini Ducati), Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Ducati), Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) and Enea Bastianini (Tech3 KTM) complete the top ten, from seventh to tenth.

Martin retakes the lead

Sprint winner the day before, Marc Márquez struggled from the start and finished sixth on his factory Ducati. According to Autosport, he swapped places with Pedro Acosta several times mid-race as both riders managed tyre pressures to stay within the legal limits; Acosta ended up ahead. For Márquez, it is his first Grand Prix finish at Mandalika.

Jorge Martin takes advantage: his podium hands him back the riders' standings lead, two points clear. The championship therefore stays very tight for the rest of the season. The tables published by some sources disagree; the newsroom sticks here to the two-point gap reported by Autosport, Crash.net and Motorsport Week.

Retirements and crashes

The race was also marked by several exits. Fermín Aldeguer crashed at the end of lap two, while Pecco Bagnaia and Jack Miller also retired. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu pulled out early with a dislocated shoulder, according to Crash.net.

What next

MotoGP now heads to the Australian Grand Prix in two weeks. With Martin leading again, Márquez lurking two points back and Aprilia full of confidence, the title fight remains wide open.
