Adelaide replaces Phillip Island
The 2027 MotoGP calendar has 22 rounds. Adelaide is round 21, on 14 November, just before Valencia on 28 November. Crash.net says the date is still subject to homologation of the circuit.
Australia therefore leaves Phillip Island, which hosted the race from 1997 except in 2020 and 2021. According to Flashscore, the Victorian government rejected a plan for Albert Park, Melbourne's F1 venue, and South Australia then offered financial guarantees. All three classes, MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, will race in Adelaide.
MotoGP sporting director Carlos Ezpeleta has accepted the plan, which includes building a full-size street circuit. Victoria's sports minister, Steve Dimopoulos, said his government could not reach an agreement with MotoGP to keep the race at Phillip Island.
A first for MotoGP
MotoGP has never raced in a city, for safety reasons. Adelaide does know motor racing, though: it hosted the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix from 1985 to 1995. The plan remains debated: Casey Stoner, Australia's two-time world champion and a six-time winner at Phillip Island, opposes the move.

Homologation of the circuit determines the date. The sources give neither the length of the Red Bull partnership nor the expected attendance: the organisers will have to clarify those points.
