F2 and F3 2027 calendars: Istanbul and Mexico City join F2

The FIA has revealed the 2027 calendars for Formula 2 and Formula 3, the two championships that lead to Formula 1. F2 will have 14 rounds and F3 10 rounds, spread across four continents. Istanbul and Mexico City are new on the F2 calendar.
The 2027 F2 calendar
The championship opens in Sakhir and finishes in Abu Dhabi:
- 12-14 March: Sakhir (Bahrain)
- 19-21 March: Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)
- 2-4 April: Melbourne (Australia)
- 20-23 May: Montreal (Canada)
- 3-6 June: Monaco
- 2-4 July: Silverstone (Great Britain)
- 9-11 July: Spielberg (Austria)
- 3-5 September: Monza (Italy)
- 10-12 September: Madrid (Spain)
- 24-26 September: Baku (Azerbaijan)
- 1-3 October: Istanbul (Türkiye), new
- 29-31 October: Mexico City (Mexico), new
- 3-5 December: Lusail (Qatar)
- 10-12 December: Yas Island, Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)
What changes for F3
F3 shares the opening rounds at Sakhir and Jeddah with F2, then follows F2 as far as Madrid. It skips Baku, Mexico City, Lusail and Abu Dhabi. Three venues are new for F3:
- Jeddah, 19 to 21 March;
- Montreal, 20 to 23 May, F3's first North American round;
- Istanbul, 1 to 3 October, which will serve as the season finale.
A season in three parts
After the opening between Bahrain and Monaco and the stops at Silverstone and Spielberg in July, F2 takes a summer break and resumes in early September at Monza. It then moves on to Madrid, Baku, Istanbul and Mexico City, before the double finale in the Middle East. For young drivers, these two series remain a key step in their development towards Formula 1.
Freight costs covered
With the wider geographical reach, the series is reassuring teams: FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said the championship will cover freight costs, so the calendar expansion does not hit teams financially. The same arrangement applies to F3.
