Bradley Smith wins his first race in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship at Jarama as Norbert Kiss takes his 19th win. What is still at stake on Sunday.

Key point

At Jarama, Bradley Smith wins his first ETRC race in Race 2, after Norbert Kiss took his 19th win of the season in Race 1.

Britain's Bradley Smith claimed his first outright win in the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) on Saturday 3 October 2026. Starting from reverse-grid pole, he led Race 2 from the front at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama, six days after his first podium at Le Mans. Earlier in the day Norbert Kiss had won Race 1 of this final round.

Race 2: Smith holds off Rodrigues

Smith kept the lead despite constant pressure from runner-up José Eduardo Rodrigues. Spain's Antonio Albacete, backed by the home crowd, completed the podium. Smith also won the Chrome category, ahead of Lukas Hahn and Mark Taylor.

In the overall order Sascha Lenz was fourth and Kiss sixth. Steffi Halm, René Reinert and Mark Taylor rounded out the top 10. Taylor beat his Chrome title rival John Newell, who finished one place behind after an opening-lap brush between the pair.

Race 1: Kiss wins for the 19th time

Norbert Kiss, eight-time champion subject to confirmation by the FIA, scored his 19th win of the season from his 13th pole position of 2026. Jochen Hahn took second and Sascha Lenz third. In Chrome, Lukas Hahn won ahead of Smith and Newell.

Sunday: three things at stake

The Spanish weekend, the 39th Grand Prix de España, continues on Sunday with Race 3 and Race 4. Several places are still up for grabs:

  • Third in the championship: Albacete must score nine points more than Jochen Hahn in Race 3 to keep his hopes alive.
  • Runner-up: Lenz needs seven points in Race 3 to clinch second place behind Kiss.
  • Chrome title: Taylor must outscore Newell by four points in Race 3 to stay in the fight heading into Race 4.

Warm-up at 10:00 local time, Qualifying 4-5-6 at 11:00, Race 3 at 13:45 and Race 4 at 15:55. Qualifying and both races are streamed live on YouTube.
