At Jarama, John Newell clinches the 2026 ETRC Chrome title, Norbert Kiss wins Race 3 and Steffi Halm takes the last truck racing race of the season.
Key point
John Newell is 2026 ETRC Chrome champion (subject to FIA confirmation); Kiss wins Race 3 and Steffi Halm wins Race 4, the last of the season.
The closing weekend of the European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) ended on Sunday 4 October 2026 at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama. John Newell clinched the Chrome category title with a race to spare, Norbert Kiss won Race 3 and Steffi Halm won Race 4, the last of the season.
John Newell takes the Chrome title
In Race 3, Newell finished third in the Chrome category, one place ahead of defending champion Mark Taylor. Taylor needed to score four more points than his fellow Briton to keep the title fight alive. That did not happen: Lukas Hahn won in Chrome ahead of Bradley Smith. Newell's title remains subject to confirmation of the results by the FIA.
In the Chrome standings after Round 7 of 7, Newell has 315 points, ahead of Taylor (297), Smith (216), Steffen Faas (188) and Lukas Hahn (180).
Kiss scores his 20th win of the season
Norbert Kiss (Révész Racing), already crowned ETRC champion for the eighth time at Le Mans, won Race 3 from his 14th pole position of the season. It is his 20th win of the year. Jochen Hahn was second, ahead of home hero Antonio Albacete.
Kiss ends the season with 383 points in the overall standings.
Steffi Halm wins Race 4
Race 4, the 28th and final race of the season, was interrupted by a red flag. Steffi Halm, who started second, touched René Reinert, who was then unable to take the restart. She then led from start to finish ahead of José Eduardo Rodrigues and Lukas Hahn. With Kiss, she is the only driver to win more than once overall in 2026.
Lukas Hahn also won the Goodyear Wingfoot Award, decided by a fan vote on Instagram, ahead of Kiss and Smith.
Second overall: a tiebreak
Jochen Hahn took second place overall thanks to a pass on Albacete on lap nine, and beat Sascha Lenz on countback: both drivers finish level on 244 points.
